Early this morning, at approximately after midnight, the Austin Police Department was called to the 10000 block of North Lamar Boulevard to respond to a distressing case of aggravated sexual assault reported by a woman in distress to a security guard. Upon their arrival, the officers collected initial information—setting off a chain of events designed to apprehend the suspected individuals involved in this heinous act, CBS Austin reported.
Through investigation, the officers were able to identify a suspect and subsequently located the vehicle and apartment unit connected to the said individual, further investigation and attempts to make contact with the persons inside went unanswered which resulted in the intervention of the Travis County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team—this decision was made in light of the alleged involvement of a handgun referenced by the victim, according to CBS Austin.
Six individuals were later seen exiting the apartment and were promptly detained for questioning, as law enforcement continued to execute their search warrant, sifting through the apartment that seemed to contain the violent echoes of the night's trauma, the case remains under investigation as officers work to tie the threads and determine the responsible party amongst the detained, CBS Austin detailed.

A command post has been set up in the Wells Fargo parking lot located at 9800 N Lamar Blvd.
On the other side of this grim narrative, KVUE sheds light on the victim's plight, recounting that a security guard found the woman half-naked, who claimed she had been sexually assaulted at gunpoint, this grim discovery leads to the summoning of the Austin Police Department and the SWAT team in the pre-dawn hours with the suspect believed to have been barricaded inside the apartment complex for a time until the situation resolved around 5:40 a.m.; whilst a specific suspect has yet to be named, the scope of the law's reach tightens around this case.
