
In the early hours of New Year's Day, Baltimore Police arrested two men following reports of gunfire in the Southwest District. The incident occurred on the 1200 block of Seminole Avenue and was swiftly acted upon by the Southwest District Action Team officers, who arrived at the scene at approximately 12:05 a.m.
According to a social media post by the Baltimore Police Department, the two suspects, aged 45 and 46, were found in possession of several loaded firearms and ammunition. Due to their prior convictions, both individuals were forbidden from owning or carrying firearms. Despite this, investigators were able to seize the illegal weaponry and charge the men with multiple gun-related offenses.

The suspects were taken to the Central Booking Intake facility, where they were charged. The charges intensified the debate on gun control and the implementation of existing laws that govern firearm possession.
