Following the September 9th shooting in Baltimore's Southwest District last year, authorities have made a significant development in the case. A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder that left a 20-year-old male victim wounded. According to information released by the Baltimore Police Department, the juvenile suspect, who is charged as an adult, was apprehended without incident on Tuesday.
The initial shooting incident, which resulted in the victim sustaining a gunshot wound to the back, propelled Southern District patrol officers to an area hospital following a walk-in report. The victim's stable condition notwithstanding, the circumstances surrounding the uncovering of his wounds punctuated the urgent need for a community response.
What followed was a thorough investigation led by Southwest District Shooting detectives that spanned over four months, eventually leading to the young suspect's residence on the 3700 block of Park Heights Avenue. Upon the execution of the arrest, the suspect was then transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, marking a notable juncture in the investigation into the violent altercation that occurred on the 700 block of North Woodington Road.
