The Benicia Fire Department reported yesterday via a social media post that the local Valero Refinery experienced a brief flaring episode due to a mechanical issue. The post provided reassurance, noting that the fire department staff actively monitored the situation and did not anticipate any health impacts outside the refinery premises.
In response to the incident, the fire department emphasized the lack of immediate danger to the public. "We currently do not anticipate any off-site health impacts," the Benicia Fire Department stated on social media.
In the event of changed conditions, the department promised to inform the community accordingly.
