Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman has brought charges against a Beverly Hills doctor, Babak Hajhosseini, aged 42, for the sexual assault of a woman. The alleged incident is said to have taken place on August 18 in Los Angeles, as reported by the District Attorney's Office. Thrown into the limelight following his arrest by the Los Angeles Police Department on November 26, Hajhosseini faces a series of grave charges including two felony counts of rape by use of drugs and other counts involving sexual acts on an unconscious or asleep person. At his arraignment on December 27, pleading not guilty, Babak Hajhosseini did. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for February 13 at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, as detailed by the District Attorney's Office.
As per information provided by the District Attorney's Office, the charges leveled against Hajhosseini are notably severe, with two counts of rape by use of drugs, one count of rape of an unconscious or asleep person, one count of oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, three counts of oral copulation of an unconscious or asleep person, and one count of sodomy of an unconscious person enumerated in case 24CJCF07892. If convicted on these charges, the defendant potentially faces a 34-year term in prison.
Hajhosseini, who managed to secure his release on a hefty $2,175,000 bond, has his legal fate hang in the balance, as his case, prosecuted by the Deputy District Attorney Alexander Lara of the Sex Crimes Division.
