A violent confrontation at a Bexley gas station this morning has left an employee in critical condition after a stabbing incident. According to WBNS, the altercation occurred around 10 a.m. at the Speedway at 2240 East Livingston Ave. It escalated when the suspect reportedly pulled a knife on the employee during a confrontation at one of the gas pumps. The injured party was promptly transported to Grant Medical Center after the incident.
The Bexley Police Department stated that the suspect fled the scene in a silver Ford pickup truck accompanied by two other individuals. Shortly after, the suspect vehicle was pulled over at East Broad Street and Waggoner Road in Reynoldsburg, where one person was arrested and two others detained. While Bexley police have not released any further details regarding the motive or the current status of the investigation, they have confirmed that the injuries sustained by the gas station employee were deemed non-life-threatening.
In a separate report by The Columbus Dispatch, Bexley Police LT. Ron Kenefick recounted that a "heated argument" between the store worker and a customer directly led to the stabbing. The Columbus Division of Police has detained three individuals related to this case but has yet to announce any formal criminal charges by Tuesday afternoon. The names of those arrested and the victim's condition remained undisclosed at the time of reporting.
