Brighton to Celebrate Unveiling of "The Brighton Cyclone" Waterslide at Local Recreation CenterSource: Google Street View

The Brighton Recreation Center is gearing up to unveil its brand-new waterslide, and the whole community is invited to join in the festivities. The grand opening event, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, is set to take place this Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10:15 a.m., as reported by the City of Brighton.

The waterslide, now christened “The Brighton Cyclone,” became uniquely named through a display of local youthful creativity. Foundations Academy’s own Willow Modica, a fifth grader, has to surely be feeling a swell of pride, having suggested the winning name. It was this name that Brighton City Council decided to officially adopt on Jan. 7, after a competition saw participation from the area's elementary school students.

Following the celebration and ceremonial snip of the ribbon, the aquatics area at the rec center is scheduled to resume standard operations immediately, ensuring that visitors can quickly turn their attention to enjoying all the watery fun the new slide offers. Local families and individuals have been eagerly awaiting the chance to experience the newest addition to their beloved community center.
