
A tragic incident occurred on New Year's Eve in Brooklyn, where a panhandler was struck by a vehicle and tragically lost his life in a brutal hit-and-run. The victim, identified as Michael Foster, was begging for change on the streets of Flatbush when he was hit around 7:30 p.m. According to NY Daily News, a white Audi collided with him on Caton Ave. near Flatbush Ave. and dragged him for half a mile. The driver then fled the scene, leaving Foster, 64, to die on the street near Linden Blvd. and Nostrand Ave.
FDNY officials confirmed that paramedics arrived quickly after the incident, but Foster was pronounced dead at the scene. The grim details reveal that the perpetrator was driving a white sedan, and the search for the driver continues. The incident was also reported by NBC New York, which noted that the hit-and-run occurred at Linden Blvd. and Nostrand Ave in Flatbush at 5:46 p.m. yesterday; however, no additional information about the suspect vehicle was available at the time.
