
Tracy Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at a warehouse located on the 2300 block of Paradise Road at around 7:40 p.m. last Saturday. Officers, following up on the previously unreported burglary at the same warehouse, tracked down a small sedan with a box trailer that was seen leaving the site in a video. The driver, identified as 52-year-old Toli Williamson, was apprehended without resistance and had clothing matches that of the suspect images from the burglary, as reported by ABC10.
However, during the incident, the passenger of the vehicle, Carlos Castaneda, 31, of Banta, fled on foot. As per FOX40, he led the police on a chase towards a field east of the warehouse. With the assistance of a Modesto police helicopter that had heat-vision capabilities, Castaneda was located hiding in a dumpster.
Castaneda was sniffed out by a police canine, according to ABC10. After being flush with success from their aerial and ground cooperation, both individuals were detained and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
It was reported by FOX40 that the authorities utilized a heat-vision camera on a police plane belonging to the Modesto Police Department to aid their search, which resulted in the discovery of the suspect in his unconventional hiding spot.
