The Ceres Police Department has reported an armed robbery at the local Dollar General store, located at 2531 E. Whitmore Avenue. The incident, which unfolded on Wednesday, prompted an intensive investigation by detectives, leading to a significant development in the case. According to an official Facebook post from the Ceres Police Department, detectives were able to locate a vehicle on the 1900 block of Pleasant Avenue believed to be connected to the crime.
Upon discovering the suspect's vehicle, detectives conducted a diligent surveillance operation, eventually managing to successfully identify the individual behind the robbery. The suspect was identified as Marc Garcia, born on July 15, 1987, whose apprehension necessitated the mobilization of the Ceres SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Teams due to the nature of the crime involving a weapon. This information was relayed through a statement published by the Ceres Police Department.
Authorities made contact with Garcia, who surrendered peacefully and was arrested. He was taken to the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center and booked on felony charges, including armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
