A Washington County man has been taken into custody following serious allegations involving the sexual assault of a minor. As reported by WPXI, Pennsylvania State Police from the Belle Vernon station responded to a call for a welfare check at a Fallowfield Township residence last Saturday. The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of Miguel Pedrosa, 62, from Charleroi.
Accused of heinous crimes, Pedrosa, who was arrested at a home that evening, has been charged with multiple counts, including rape of a child and statutory sexual assault of a child older than 11. Online sources confirm he also faces charges of aggravated indecent assault without consent and corruption of minors, adding to the gravity of the situation.
Online court records, accessed following Pedrosa's apprehension, reflect the serious nature of the charges against him. In a detailed account by the Observer-Reporter, the charges include endangering the welfare of a child, in addition to the counts above.
Pedrosa is currently held at Washington County Jail, with bail set at $250,000. A preliminary hearing is slated before Magisterial District Judge Eric Porter this coming Thursday, Feb. 6.
