Orlando residents can anticipate a cooler weekend ahead, with frost possibly occurring in some interior parts of the city by Sunday morning. The National Weather Service in Melbourne predicts wind chill values could drop into the 30s early Saturday morning. Despite these chillier conditions, the area will gradually warm into Sunday afternoon, followed by another strong cold front expected to bring below-normal temperatures starting Tuesday into the middle of next week.

According to the same forecast, after a dry spell for most of the upcoming week, there might be a slight chance for showers on Monday and next Friday. Boaters should also take care, as poor to hazardous conditions will likely develop going into tonight and continue through Saturday night. A Small Craft Advisory has been issued for all the offshore waters starting at 7 PM tonight, expanding to all the waters starting at 10 PM.

Today, northwest winds will persist, but they are expected to shift north-northwest overnight as a dry cold front moves through east central Florida. Expect plenty of sunshine today with seasonable to slightly below normal temperatures this afternoon, the National Weather Service reported. Highs will reach the mid to upper 60s in the north and upper 60s to low 70s in the South. By nighttime, the lows could drop to the low to mid-40s.

The cooling trend will continue on Saturday, with highs roughly 10 degrees below the seasonal average amid wind shifts and building high pressure. By Sunday night, temperatures are poised to rebound somewhat, with lows generally in the low to mid-50s. As for maritime concerns, the forecast indicates that seas 2-4ft in the nearshore waters and 3-5ft in the offshore waters today will build to 8-9ft in the offshore waters overnight.

Fire weather conditions are also a note of interest, as the dry air across the region could lead to heightened wildfire risks. The National Weather Service cautions that minimum relative humidity values will drop into the 30s over much of east-central Florida this afternoon. Saturday and Sunday will maintain this sensitivity, especially inland, with similar minimum RH values and northerly winds.
