The Cleveland Police First District has turned to community partners seeking help identifying two individuals involved in a recent theft and fraudulent spending spree. As reported on the Cleveland Police First District's official Facebook page, the male and female suspects have been implicated in multiple incidents since last Monday.
The first incident identified them stealing a car around 4:30 a.m. from 10109 Lake Ave. Not long after, appearing at the 3400 Steelyard Dr. Wal-Mart by 6:30 a.m. where they attempted transactions totaling approximately $2,000 with stolen credit cards, the thefts on Lake Ave. and the fraudulent purchases at Wal-Mart seem connected, given the proximity in time and geography. The stolen car was recovered the same day at 7206 Wentworth Avenue in Cleveland. Nevertheless, the suspects remain at large.
The male suspect has been described as a white male in his 30s, standing between 5'7" and 5'9" with a thin build, and the female as a light-skinned Black female, also in her 30s, ranging from 5' to 5'2" with a medium build.
Cleveland Police are urging anyone with information to reach out to the First District Detective Unit at (216) 623-5118 or anonymously through the Crime Stoppers tip line at (216) 252-7463, as the male suspect is also a suspect in multiple thefts on Lake Ave, authorities are keen to halt this pattern of criminal behavior.
