Big changes are arriving at John Glenn Columbus International Airport as officials embark on an ambitious project to construct a new terminal estimated to cost nearly $2 billion. Starting next week, travelers must navigate altered traffic patterns and parking locations amidst the ongoing development efforts.

Beginning the week of January 13, adjustments to the traffic flow on International Gateway are expected, as per a statement obtained by WBNS. The iconic John Glenn International sign will also strategically relocate the Cell Phone Lot near the Rental Car Center. This measure is reportedly a temporary solution to accommodate the extensive construction activities.

According to a report by Spectrum News 1, the new Cell Phone Lot will still be accessible from the International Gateway, ensuring convenience for drivers waiting to pick up passengers without clogging the immediate airport vicinity.

The airport's expansion, highlighted in coverage by The Columbus Dispatch, is touted to feature 36 gates with the capacity to service up to 13 million passengers. Airport authorities are targeting to complete the new terminal by 2029, heralding a significant upgrade in infrastructure poised to bolster the region's connectivity and economic growth.
