Last Sunday, Boston was disrupted after a serious car crash on Commonwealth Avenue near Boston University. Two vehicles collided around 7:30 p.m., sending debris onto the Green Line tracks. The crash temporarily stopped service, and shuttle buses were used to transport stranded passengers, according to Boston 25 News.
Officers quickly managed the scene, directing traffic around the wreckage. Airbags were inflated, and a traffic light lay across the accident site. Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries, but they were not in life-threatening condition, as reported by Boston 25 News.
A vehicle was thrown onto the MBTA Green Line tracks at BU Central, causing delays of up to 20 minutes on the B line. The incident, which occurred near the Boston University Bridge and the Howard Thurman Center, interrupted the usual flow of commuters and academic activity. Officer Michael Torigian confirmed the details, and by 9:20 p.m., service was restored, allowing normal operations to resume, as stated by The Boston Globe.
