Tax season has been impacted for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD residents due to an error in the tax payment process. A local woman recently discovered that her estate tax check was not delivered as expected. She found that the check had been sent to an incorrect zip code listed on the envelope provided by the Cy-Fair ISD Tax Office. In mid-December, Robin noticed that her property tax payment had not been cashed, which led her to contact the tax office, as per Click2Houston.
The issue is due to an incorrect address on the payment coupons included with the 2024 tax statements. This mistake could have resulted in undelivered payments, potentially causing taxpayers to miss payment deadlines even if their payments were mailed on time, which might lead to payments being returned. To prevent any issues, the Tax Office advises taxpayers to use the corrected address: Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Tax Office, PO Box 203908, Houston, Texas 77216-3908, elaborated an ABC13 report.
If your payment has been returned or if you're uncertain about its status, you can check at www.cfisdtax.com. For those who have mailed payments that were returned, keeping the postmarked envelope may help avoid late fees, as it provides proof of timely submission. Other payment options include paying online, by phone at 1-855-795-3096, or in person at 10300 Jones Road, Door 6, Houston, during business hours.
Remember, timing is critical: payments postmarked on or after February 1 will be considered delinquent. For assistance with any issues, the Cy-Fair ISD Tax Office can be contacted at 281-664-6300.
