The Dallas Police Department has made a public appeal for information leading to the arrest of one Kelvontae Berry, who is currently wanted for a family violence incident that took place last year. According to the Dallas Police Department's Facebook page, Berry is accused of strangling a victim, which led to the impeding of their breath, on September 5, 2024, in the 12600 block of Coit Road.
This suspect is now part of the department's #WantedWednesday initiative, which aims to involve the community in the capture of fugitives. "Anyone with information on the wanted person’s whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS (8477)," the Dallas Police Department's post reads, stressing that individuals should not attempt to take any police action themselves. A reward has been offered by Crime Stoppers for information that leads to Berry's arrest, and indictment for this, and other felony offenses. The case in question has been filed under the number 152615-2024.
The department has urged those who may have relevant information not to remain silent but to step forward. "Crime Stoppers will pay a reward for information that leads to the arrest and indictment for this and other felony offenses," the Dallas PD post underlines, pointing toward a communal stake in the pursuit of justice.
