On the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Ann Salton Eisen is set to illuminate a chapter from one of history's darkest periods. As the daughter of a Jewish survivor of Nazi concentration camps, Salton Eisen brings a personal perspective to the profound impacts of the Holocaust.
Her presentation, destined to deepen adults' understanding of this troublesome past, will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Southwest Regional Library, as per the City of Fort Worth.
Salton Eisen's journey through history is anchored in her discovery. She employed the Arolsen Archives to uncover details of her father's harrowing experiences. As she pieces together fragments of her family's tragedy, the weight of the past becomes a tangible presence for her audience.
Distinguished not only as a daughter of survivors, she shapes her narrative through a lens of literature and film – evident as the author of "The 23rd Psalm: A Holocaust Memoir," The Twentieth Anniversary Edition, and "Pillar of Salt: A Daughter’s Life in the Shadow of the Holocaust." Moreover, she's the executive producer of the documentary film "In My Father’s Words," drawing on her literary works to witness her family's ordeal.
