Delta Air Lines is distributing $1.4 billion in profit-sharing to its workforce following a financially successful year. The payout, which aligns with the airline's centennial celebration, reflects the company’s recognition of its employees’ contributions. Eligible workers will receive an average payout of approximately 10% of their annual earnings, equating to around five weeks of additional pay, as per FOX 5 Atlanta.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian praised the employees for their professionalism and teamwork, calling this one of the strongest profit-sharing years in the airline's history. With around 100,000 employees, Delta has given back $10 billion through profit-sharing over the past decade.
The bonus highlights Delta's strong financial position, despite a decrease in net income from $4.6 billion to $3.4 billion compared to the previous year, according to The Business Journals.
According to Chief People Officer Allison Ausband, in a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta, "This year’s profit sharing payout is a testament to the hard work of Delta people. They recognize that our commitment to safety and world-class service builds trust with our customers – who in turn reward Delta with their loyalty."
