Mayor Mike Johnston of Denver has revealed an ambitious plan for 2025, intending to tackle some of the city's foremost challenges. With a focus on reducing homelessness, managing housing costs, enhancing public safety, and emphasizing climate resiliency and family wellness, Johnston's goals for the year are set to build upon the achievements of his administration during 2024. "Amidst the feeling of chaos and unpredictability in our federal government right now, our message to Denverites is clear: we're focused on delivering the best services for our residents, and we're not slowing down," said Mayor Johnston, as per City and County of Denver.

The mayor's office unveiled six priorities for the coming year, those being Vibrant, Affordable, Safe, In Mile High, Climate Resilient, and Family Friendly. In a move to streamline city services and face the demands of a growing population, Mayor Johnston is pushing the city agencies to collaborate for, more effective service delivery. Reflecting on the city's direction, Johnston states, "In Denver, we say our toughest problems are solvable and we are the ones to solve them, and with these goals as our North Star, we're prepared to spend the year building a Denver that is truly vibrant, affordable, and safe for everyone," as obtained by the City and County of Denver.

Since the beginning of Johnston's tenure, Denver has been breaking barriers, and fostering cooperation across different facets of the municipal framework. The overarching aim is to transform Denver into, what Johnston envisions, as the best place in America for work and family life. This plan appears to be a direct response to the instability at the federal level, steering local government to take matters into its own hands and provide tangible improvements for the residents of Denver.
