The Detroit Police Department requests the public's assistance in locating LaTonya Mitchell, a 32-year-old woman reported missing since last Friday. LaTonya was last seen leaving her residence on the 15000 block of Rossini Drive. She has since failed to return home, causing concern for her safety among her family and authorities alike.
According to ClickOnDetroit, at the time of her disappearance, LaTonya Mitchell was dressed in a black jacket, black and white top with kisses on the front, green leggings, and red 'Nike' shoes. There are certain details concerning her description that the police and her relatives hope will aid in her identification. She stands 4 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 to 170 pounds. Her distinctive hairstyle features black and red braids. Additionally, Mitchell has brown eyes and two tattoos: one reading "Deshawn" on her chest and another with "rest in peace" on her left arm.
LaTonya's sister has informed authorities that she struggles with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and also has a cognitive impairment, which increases the urgency of her safe recovery. The search spans both personal appeals and law enforcement efforts to trace her whereabouts since she vanished several days ago.
The Detroit Police Department has engaged the community through social media, urging anyone with information to come forward. A post from the department's missing persons page reads: "Please help us find missing LaTonya Mitchell. If you have any information, please call Detroit's 9th Precinct at (313) 596-5940 or 911."
