
San Antonio police have re-opened downtown roads after a body was found, leading to a shutdown of the area for investigation purposes yesterday evening, with the incident site notably close to City Hall. According to KENS 5, the body was discovered under a yellow tarp near the intersections of West Commerce Street and North Flores Street also West Houston Street and North Flores Street.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office is said to be looking into the death's cause and circumstances, following the initial alert by the San Antonio Police Department advising the public to avoid the area, which now has since resumed normal traffic flow, as observed when crews from KSAT arrived on-scene, KSAT reported.
SAPD, which has yet to disclose further information about the incident, initially took to notifying residents through a Facebook post, cautioning them against journeying through the involved intersection, it this update followed shortly before 6 p.m. yesterday but streets were reopened for commuters less than two hours later without elaboration on the suspected happenings from officials at the scene. Both sources have indicated that this remains a developing story and additional details will be published as they come to light.
