This morning in Ross Township, chaos briefly prevailed as an SUV lost control and careened into an Adultmart on McKnight Road. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m., with police stating that the SUV driver was traveling southbound when they spectacularly slid off the road, according to WPXI. Despite the circumstances, it was confirmed that the driver was extricated by Ross West View EMSA and taken in stable condition to a nearby trauma center.
In detailing the accident, Ross Township Police highlighted that the vehicle was going at a high rate of speed, "especially for (the) condition," as Deputy Chief of Police Brian Kohlhepp reported per Audacy. Although the roads appeared covered in remnants of predicted snowfall, most drivers took the necessary time to navigate safely with minimal reported accidents, as noted by AAA's Ellen Gamble.
The police have not disclosed the driver's identity or the potential long-term impact of the accident on their health. Fortunately, the Adultmart was empty then, avoiding a more serious situation. Repair work on the storefront is underway, and authorities have yet to confirm whether any charges will be filed.
