The iconic Dublin spot, The Bogey Inn, once a staple for patrons during the annual Memorial Tournament, is set to transform under the vision of Rise Brands, the powerhouse behind popular venues like Pins Mechanical Co. and 16-Bit Bar+Arcade. In a move to revitalize the storied restaurant, which shuttered its doors in February 2022 following the owner's demise, the property is being converted into a sprawling entertainment campus featuring a 27-hole putting course and various other amenities.
After brief reopenings coinciding with the Memorial Tournament, the 6013 Glick Road location is slated for reconstruction this year, with intentions to retain its renowned name but with a fresh spin. The original building, already subject to a demolition permit, is expected to give way to family-friendly activities, including a scoop shop, and nods to the golfing heritage surrounding the premises. Describing the trajectory of the entertainment campus, Troy Allen, CEO of Rise Brands, mentioned to NBC4i, "The Bogey Inn has been on our radar for quite some time. It has always been a special part of the Dublin and Shawnee Hills community, and we wanted to make sure we stayed true to that legacy. We just needed the right concept to bring to the area and this experience will combine the timeless tradition of golf, family fun and the unique experiences Rise is known for."
Rise Brands is not undertaking this transformation in isolation. Dan Sullivan, Executive Director of the Memorial Tournament, is closely collaborating to ensure the venue reflects its revered past while appealing to both the golf community and casual visitors. Reminiscing about the site's legacy and its future outlook, Sullivan said to The Columbus Dispatch, "We sought out to secure The Bogey Inn property to ensure we had input and contributed to the evolution of the iconic venue. We took time to review what was best for the cherished brand and the important corner of Dublin and determined that Rise Brands is the perfect partner."
While the new campus is forecasted for completion in 2026, updates on the construction progress will be accessible through the renovated entity's website. The overhaul is slated to celebrate the essence of The Bogey Inn's history, capturing a blend of old charm and modern vibrancy. It is equipped with full-service bars and a halfway house-inspired kitchen designed to cater to various event needs. Rise promises to anchor the new venue with a putting course that emulates authentic golfing experiences. In a statement to WBNS, Allen affirmed, "It has always been a special part of the Dublin and Shawnee Hills community, and we wanted to make sure we stayed true to that legacy."
