
The Duluth Police Department (DPD) is extending an open invitation to residents who wish to gain deeper insights into law enforcement operations. Through its Citizen Police Academy, the DPD hopes to recruit 24 community members for a unique educational experience that aims to foster transparency and understanding between Duluth's police force and its citizens.
Announced via a social media post, the Citizen Police Academy is scheduled to commence on March 5 and will continue every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. until May 21. This program is part of a broader initiative to demystify police processes and practices, encouraging dialogue and a shared sense of responsibility when it comes to community safety.
DPD is looking for 24 individuals who are interested in understanding Duluth Police operations to attend the 2025 Citizen Police Academy. This academy will take place every Wednesday from 6 – 9 p.m. starting March 5 until May 21.
