In the early hours of today, residents of the Widefield neighborhood in unincorporated El Paso County were awakened by the abrupt violence that penetrated the relative peace of Dove Creek Circle. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the occurrence of a shooting at a local residence, as first reported through an emergency call to the Regional Communication Center around 1:00 a.m.
According to El Paso County Sheriff's Office, upon their arrival, deputies found three individuals with gunshot wounds. Two victims were swiftly transported to local hospitals by the Security Fire Department, while the third succumbed to their injuries at the scene, their identity still unconfirmed. One additional individual, presenting a gunshot wound as well, sought medical attention separately and is now part of the investigation puzzle that law enforcement is diligently assembling.
The investigation has been relegated to the capable hands of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division, which is spearheading the homicide inquiry.
