Eden Kendall, a staple voice in Jacksonville's morning radio scene, has officially made the transition back to television. After nearly two decades with various radio stations, including her long run on "99.9 Gator Country" WGNE, Kendall has departed the airwaves to quickly rejoin WJXT-TV's "River City Live" as co-host. This shift marks a return to a familiar screen for Kendall, who previously co-hosted the TV show from 2015 to 2022.
Kendall's career spans an impressive tenure in Jacksonville media, beginning in 1995 at the "The Big Ape Morning Zoo" on CHR 95.1 WAPE. Together with the likes of Steve Sutton and Amadeus, they eventually made a move to join WGNE in June 2007. Her journey has to seemingly come full circle, as she steps back into the television spotlight. Kendall spoke to this change in a statement, saying, "I wanted to focus on this one thing for the first time in a long time," according to a Insider Radio interview.
Eden Kendall's enthusiasm for her return to "River City Live" is palpable. The show is a celebration of the diverse culture and lifestyle of Jacksonville, covering everything from steals and deals to live performances. It airs weekdays from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Channel 4, with an additional segment, River City Live+, following immediately after at 10:15 a.m.
Known for her engaging presence, Kendall aims to bring her passion for the Jacksonville community back to television screens. "Jacksonville is my home, and I’m so excited to reconnect with the River City Live audience," Kendall expressed with gusto in comments obtained by News4JAX. Her partnership with co-host Rance Adams promises to uncover and share the special narratives woven throughout the city's fabric—from its cuisine to its entertainment.
The move comes after Eden's colleague, Steve Sutton, left their morning radio show in April 2022. This left Amadeus to continue solo, as reported by RadioInsight. Outside of television, Kendall continues to engage with her audience through her podcast "Uncluttered and Unfiltered," which offers lifestyle and confidence advice for women over fifty.
