Eight people were hospitalized, three of them in critical condition, after an early morning fire in Dundalk, Baltimore County. The blaze occurred in the 3400 block of Loganview Drive and was first reported around 2 a.m. on Thursday. The Baltimore County Fire Department responded to the scene to find heavy fire activity upon arrival, according to WBALTV.
The department quickly issued a second alarm, struggling to control the growing blaze. All eight residents, including adults and children, escaped the fire. However, they all sustained injuries requiring hospitalization—five with non-life-threatening injuries, while three remained in critical condition, fighting for their lives, FOX Baltimore reported.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 3:36 a.m. The fire was ruled accidental and caused by an electrical malfunction.
