
Temple Terrace Police are currently investigating a grim scene after two elderly individuals were found dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide. On Monday afternoon, authorities responded to a well-being check at a residence on the 12200 block of North 53rd Street, as reported by FOX 13 News.
Upon arrival at the scene, around 12:30 p.m., officers encountered the home in a secure state and could not initially contact anyone inside. Eventually gaining entry, they discovered the bodies of an 85-year-old woman and a 90-year-old man. Both had suffered gunshot wounds. According to the WFLA News, detectives are now piecing together the events that transpired.
The Temple Terrace Police Department has assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community. However, many questions still linger regarding the circumstances that led to this tragic outcome. It remains unclear who was responsible for the shooting, or what drove them to such a desolate resolution, according to information released by Tampa Free Press.
