A somber mood befalls the streets of Essex as local law enforcement investigates a fatal single-vehicle crash that left a young man dead. The Baltimore County Police Department is probing into the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident on Route 702 and E. Homberg Avenue on Sunday. Early reports by detectives suggest that the driver, upon losing control, struck a curb and then a traffic barrier, which resulted in severe injuries.
Tragically, the collision was not survived by the driver, 24-year-old Kahron Thompson, whose identity was released by the authorities. After being transported to a local hospital due to the injuries sustained from the crash, Thompson was subsequently pronounced dead.
The Baltimore County Government reported that Thompson's 2006 Subaru Outback collided with a stationary object on the road. This tragic event happens too often, and the Baltimore County Crash Team is investigating what caused the crash.
