Boulder County residents on the hunt for affordable housing might want to mark their calendars for this Thursday, January 16. An open house event at Willoughby Corner in Lafayette is set to welcome the community from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Here, attendees will have the chance to tour the affordable homes available for rent, apply on the spot, and possibly win prizes in a raffle.
Willoughby Corner is catering to households earning up to 60 percent of the Area Median Income, which for a two-person household is about $70,000, or $88,000 for a family of four. According to Boulder County, the property isn't just affordable, it's also well-situated close to Old Town Lafayette and boasts access to quality schools.
"Willoughby Corner has excellent amenities, is in a beautiful location not far from Old Town Lafayette, and is close to great schools," Property Manager Supervisor for the Boulder County Housing Authority, Valerie Edmonds said, as per Boulder County. "We have already been welcoming new neighbors to Willoughby Corner over the past few months, and have more 1 and 2-bedroom homes available now for those needing an affordable rental home. We invite anyone who needs an affordable rental to join us at the open house, even if they're not sure whether they qualify."
The event is located southwest of the intersection of 120th and Emma Streets at 933 Canterbury, Lafayette. You'll want to use the construction entrance off Emma Street, where you can park in the lots near the Willoughby Corner community building. Just follow the signs to reach the event. It's an opportunity not only to find a home but also to join a budding community looking to forge new beginnings, together.
