This morning, the streets of Fairfield were pierced by police sirens as a high-speed chase ensued following the attempted apprehension of a stolen vehicle. According to a social media post by CHP Golden Gate Division Air Operations, Fairfield police spotted the stolen car, leading to a pursuit that soon called for aerial support.
The chase escalated when the suspect refused to yield to Fairfield PD, compelling them to request assistance from CHP's helicopter team, H-30, which quickly took to the skies, allowing patrol cars to maintain a safer distance. While the H-30 stayed vigilant above, the desperate driver abandoned the chase on private lands, attempting to flee on foot.
After successfully being directed to give up by the CHP helicopter crew, the suspect was apprehended and is now in the custody of Fairfield PD, with additional support coming from Vacaville Police Department's K9 unit.
