
Last Thursday, the Fairfield Police Department reported that they were alerted to a residential burglary in progress in the 1100 block of Dana Drive after a neighbor witnessed a suspicious figure entering through a window of an adjacent apartment.
The helpful citizen promptly contacted Dispatch, informing them that they had spotted a man wearing a mask, opting to break into his neighbor's home through the window. According to the Fairfield Police Department, responding officers arrived on the scene to observe a suspect emerge from the apartment, only to rapidly escape while clutching a kitchen garbage bag filled with stolen belongings.
Officers, including Patrol, School Resource Officers, and Traffic personnel, launched a pursuit, culminating in a technological twist. Law enforcement deployed a drone, which proved crucial in tracking down the 19-year-old Oakland suspect. He was found to conceal himself within the playground area of a neighboring apartment complex.
Despite a second attempt to evade capture, the suspect was promptly apprehended and taken into custody. The stolen goods were recovered intact and have since been restored to their rightful owner.
