
A fatal collision has cast a shadow over South Dairy Ashford Road yesterday morning, with Houston police currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the tragic incident. At approximately 5:25 a.m., a man, 42, whose identity is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was involved in a single-vehicle crash that ended fatally.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Keita, in a statement made by the Houston Police Department, the man was driving his black Ford Expedition northbound when he appeared to lose control of the vehicle. The SUV was reported to have veered onto the raised concrete median, which ultimately led to the vehicle's violent collision with a concrete pillar, causing it to roll and subsequently catch fire.
The Houston Fire Department arrived quickly at the scene, located at the 12600 block of South Dairy Ashford Road, to douse the flames engulfing the vehicle. Despite their swift response, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the attending paramedics, as noted by the Houston Police Department.
