An elected Fayette County constable, Michael Scott Mucy, 58, is facing serious drug charges after police reportedly discovered methamphetamine in his truck. According to CBS News Pittsburgh, Mucy, from Redstone Township, was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
On the evening of October 31, law enforcement officers encountered Mucy and another individual parked in a black Ram pickup truck at Mill Street Park in Uniontown, a location closed after dark. According to a report by CBS News Pittsburgh, Mucy was sitting in the passenger seat. During the interaction, he revealed that he probably had previously arrested the person beside him.
The initial search of his vehicle led to the discovery of a smoking bong with white residue, which was soon accompanied by the finding of a lid containing suspected meth. Mucy instructed the officers to halt their search when they began looking behind the driver's seat.
With a search warrant, police then found, according to a criminal complaint, more drug paraphernalia, including a blue bag that housed a digital scale with narcotic residue and a lockbox containing around 4.5 ounces of meth. Facing the weight of these allegations, Mucy could not post bail and is currently held behind bars. He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 28, as WPXI detailed.
