A routine traffic stop in Lady Lake, Florida, led to the arrest of Donald Eugene Fields II, a 60-year-old Missouri man previously on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. According to ClickOrlando, local law enforcement halted Fields yesterday morning when his vehicle's license plate didn't match its registration.
Federally indicted in St. Louis on December 7, 2023, on one count of child sex trafficking, Fields was also facing a slew of charges in Franklin County Circuit Court, Missouri, including statutory rape, statutory sodomy, child molestation, and witness tampering. Seeking for his arrest had been ongoing after Fields II vacated his home and was absent for his March 3, 2022, court hearing. WFTV confirmed the arrest was made around 9:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 27/441 at Rolling Acres Road.
The FBI praised the Lady Lake Police Department for their vigilant enforcement efforts that ultimately led to Fields' apprehension. "Thanks to proactive policing by the Lady Lake Police Department, one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted fugitives has been captured," said FBI St. Louis Special Agent in Charge Ashley Johnson, detailed by ClickOrlando.
