The FedEx St. Jude Championship, known for hosting Memphis' premier PGA TOUR event, has stepped into the philanthropic fairway with the launch of the Positively Memphis Community Fund. Designed to be a boon to local nonprofits, this initiative will inject funds into organizations working throughout the Mid-South to fuel positive change, as reported by Action News 5. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 will be on offer, operating on a quarterly basis with each period zeroing in on a specific area of need to maximize impact.

This quarter zeroes in on the theme of Health, Wellness, and Sport, with an emphasis on programs that bolster fitness, mental health, and physical wellbeing through sports and active living. "Our dedication to Memphis goes far beyond the tournament itself," Executive Director Joe Tomek shared in a statement obtained by Local Memphis. “We are so grateful to this community for the incredible support that has put us in a position to lend this kind of meaningful assistance to local organizations. We’re truly excited to see the impact these grants will have on the people and programs that make Memphis such a special place.”

Entities hoping to tap into this funding vein must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits, government bodies, or educational institutions within the Mid-South and have a track record of non-discriminatory service delivery, as per the tournament's requirements cited by FOX13 Memphis. The fund will not extend to administrative or operating expenses, nor support political organizations, individual requests, or sponsorship bids.

The application period for this funding cycle ends on March 30. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply through the tournament's website.
