A woman was reportedly robbed at gunpoint on Sunday night at the Folsom Palladio 16 Cinema. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m., prompting a police response to the location. According to a post by the Folsom Police Department on Facebook, the victim’s friend alerted authorities after receiving a text message about the robbery.
Law enforcement responded swiftly, with multiple officers carrying patrol rifles arriving at the scene to secure the safety of patrons and staff while determining whether the suspect was still in the theater. As part of the operation, six individuals, including both moviegoers and employees, were escorted out of the building, ABC10 reports.
According to the Folsom Police Department, the suspect threatened the victim, suggesting he had a weapon and claiming to have accomplices inside the theater. The suspect then stole the victim's car from the Palladio parking lot. The vehicle was later recovered by the Sacramento Police Department in Sacramento, but no arrests have been made at this time.
The suspect is described as a white male, aged 18 to 20, with brown hair and wearing a black jacket. Although it is unclear whether the suspect was armed, officers instructed patrons to exit the theater with their hands raised as a precautionary measure to ensure safety and to verify that the suspect was not hiding among the moviegoers, FOX40 communicated. The Folsom Police Department is actively investigating the case and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
