Attorney General Ken Paxton acknowledged the recent appointments of two former staff members to the Trump administration. Paige Willey was named Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council. Ryan Baasch was appointed Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, focusing on tech policy for the National Economic Council, as reported by the Office of the Attorney General.
According to the Office of the Attorney General, Willey, as Director of Communications for the Office of the Attorney General, played a key role in promoting important issues like border security, consumer protection, and data privacy. She made significant contributions to supporting these priorities for the people of Texas.
Baasch and Willey, former leaders at the Texas Attorney General's office, were recognized by Ken Paxton for their work on issues such as government overreach and Big Tech censorship. Paxton stated, "While at my office, Paige and Ryan served the people of Texas with distinction and delivered victory after victory in our fight against government overreach, predatory corporations, and Big Tech censorship. I have no doubt they will continue working boldly to make America great." With experience in economic policy and technology, they are now taking on roles in the Trump administration. Paxton also said, "The work my office does has been on the cutting edge of defending our nation’s liberties and I congratulate President Trump for choosing these outstanding professionals to serve in his Administration," as stated by the Office of the Attorney General.
