Fort Worth, Texas, has again solidly planted its feet in the aerospace and defense industry, winning the 2024 Impact Award for Advanced Manufacturing, thanks to Embraer's new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility. This is the second consecutive year the city has taken home an Impact Award, with a nod to a new Siemens manufacturing facility in 2023. According to Business Facilities, winning projects are anticipated to pump billions into their local economies and prop up thousands of jobs.

According to the City of Fort Worth, business Facilities' editorial director Anne Cosgrove stated, "Our 2024 Deal of the Year winners represent billions of dollars in capital investment and thousands of jobs for the communities in which these companies and their suppliers will operate." The Embraer project involves a sizeable sum of $57 million and foresees the creation of 250 full-time jobs by 2029. In perspective, the City of Fort Worth is projected to net over $1.2 million in new taxes from this initiative alone.

Embraer, the third largest producer of civil aircraft globally, has committed deeply to the Lone Star State, notably with this sprawling new facility in Fort Worth's AllianceTexas corridor. Upon completion, the 16-acre site will notably raise Embraer's US market capacity for their E-Jet customers by 53 percent. Embraer's president and CEO of Services & Support, Carlos Naufel, said per the city's press release, "We have a longstanding relationship with the state of Texas and look forward to our partnership with Hillwood at Alliance."

Additionally, this project underscores Fort Worth's continued rise as a hub for aerospace and defense, which is home to over 600 related companies and has the livelihoods of more than 23,500 individuals tied to the sector. And it's not just about Embraer; other projects like GE On Wing Support Inc.'s expansion and AVX Aircraft Company's new head office collectively pump more than $120 million in investments into the region.
