The Fort Worth Public Library is stepping up its game, offering a new year-round program designed to encourage locals to engage with library services and explore the city's cultural tapestry. Dubbed the Fun Tracker, this initiative is less about quiet reading corners and more about experiencing the city's lively offerings in concert with the library's resources.
Fresh ideas will roll out with the seasons, aligned with recognized holidays and monthly celebrations—from the pyrotechnics of July Fourth to the profound reflections during Black History Month. Curated by library staff, these events aim to add a new dimension to the everyday library visit. "We hope Fort Worth residents will experience their city and the library in new ways through the Fun Tracker," Library Director Midori Clark said in a statement detailed by the City of Forth Worth. "It’s all about doing memorable activities that are free, fun and accessible to everyone."
The program doesn't eschew literary pursuits entirely, however. Book lovers can still find solace and excitement in the Spring Reading Challenge come March, and the Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge extends from June through August. Residents earn Fun Tracker experience points by registering for these challenges, which, in theory, encourage further exploration of the library's offerings.
