Beneficiaries of TRICARE in the Fort Worth area under the new management of TriWest Health Alliance are experiencing more than a few hiccups. According to a social media update from the NAS JRB Fort Worth, officials are fully engaged in resolving these issues, including delayed payments, significant call center wait times, and unprocessed referrals.

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) has taken notice of the stress and issued a statement addressing each major concern. Amidst the chaos, they've offered solace to those beleaguered by payment deadlines, extending the date to February 28th.

But wait times, always a source of frustration, have surged at the call centers for beneficiaries in the West, with TriWest working overtime to combat the long holds. They are hiring additional staff and trying to give beneficiaries a smooth transition, especially when transferring payment information vital for maintaining healthcare coverage.

For previous contractors' referrals that now seem lost in transition, DHA assures that TriWest will honor any active referrals issued before January 1 until they expire or June 30. And if you were treated or submitted a claim before the dawn of 2025, HealthNet Federal Services and Humana Military are still your go-to, but only for services before January 1.
