Lewisville residents searching for a financial boost to spruce their homes are in for a treat. Neighborhood Services is hosting a workshop to explain various grants available for property enhancements. The free event, scheduled for Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m., will be held at Lewisville Public Library, 1197 W. Main Street, as announced by the City of Lewisville's official website.
During the workshop, attendees will be provided insights into the grant process, steps on application submission, and an overview of other countywide resources. The city's Property Enhancement Program offers a grant rebate of up to 50 percent for eligible exterior home repairs, whereas the Love Your Block initiative provides a $500 reimbursable mini-grant for community-building projects. Another opportunity, the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, proffers a matching grant of up to $12,500 for neighborhood groups looking to beautify their area.
Interested locals aiming for a deeper dive into the subject matter have a rich calendar of events, with monthly workshops sprinkled throughout the year. These sessions will be held at various venues, including the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, the Lewisville Grand Theater, and a spot named Thrive. Times for these gatherings are consistently earmarked for Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m., creating a learning and community engagement pattern.
Furthering the access to these resources, the city promised additional workshop opportunities tailored for East Lewisville/Castle Hills residents, which will be hosted at the Queen Margaret Community Center. Additionally, sessions in Spanish and Chinese will be organized for non-English speakers at Serve Lewisville. This initiative is part of the "Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods" Big Move, a component of the Lewisville 2025 vision plan that can be perused online.
