A garbage truck veered off course this morning and struck the Armco Federal Credit Union in Butler, inflicting structural damage and injuries to the driver. The incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. at the bank located within the Pullman Center Business Park on Hollywood Drive, as reported by WPXI.
While the crash led to the garbage truck driver's hospitalization, no other major injuries were reported. Running near the ATM drive-thru, the garbage truck went over the hillside, colliding with the bank, but the specific cause of the accident has not been disclosed. A credit union spokesperson, in an unusual development, confirmed that the driver did sustain injuries to his head and arm while stating that clients or employees inside the facility were unharmed, according to a Butler Radio interview.
The bank has announced an indefinite closure pending repairs, urging customers to use online services.
