Diesel's tenure with the Garland Police Department began in March 2017 and he dutifully served until his retirement on December 28, 2024, leaving behind an impressive legacy including 250 criminal apprehensions and 160 narcotic arrests not to mention the key role he played in locating vital evidence for several major investigations — his presence was a steady, tangible beacon of diligence in a profession marred by uncertainty and danger. The department, striving to encapsulate Diesel's importance, described him as more than just a good police dog—he was extraordinary.
