A woman's life came to a tragic end early in the morning in a Garland apartment community following a shooting incident being investigated by local authorities. According to a social media post by the Garland Police Department, responding officers discovered the victim shortly before 2 a.m. suffering from a gunshot wound at the complex located on the 4500 block of Chaha Road. She was rapidly attended to and transported to a local hospital, where she was ultimately pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation suggests a disturbance in the parking lot, involving the male suspect and two females. During the skirmish, Robert Ray Kelly, a 39-year-old man from Dallas, is alleged to have discharged a firearm, striking one of the females. Kelly vanished from the scene before the arrival of the police, and detectives are now piecing together the events that escalated to the fatal shooting. At this juncture, they believe the incident to be an isolated one.
The Garland Police Department is currently withholding the identity of the deceased woman. Meanwhile, an active search is underway for the suspect, Robert Kelly, with authorities seeking the community's assistance.
