As Gilda's LaughFest gears up for its 15th anniversary in Grand Rapids, comedy enthusiasts are in for a treat with a lineup featuring the likes of Adam Ray, Gabby Bryan, Dan Soder, and Corey B. WZZM 13 released the schedule earlier today, revealing a mix of fan favorites and fresh events that aim to both entertain and support the fundraising goals of Gilda's Club, which offers free support programs for cancer and grief.
With over 40 shows slated to run from March 5 to March 9, the festival hosts a variety of acts, such as the Seattle-bred actor and comic Adam Ray, known for his appearances on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "MadTV," and New York's Emmy-winner Gabby Bryan, both set to perform at distinct venues – Ray at the Fountain Street Church and Bryan at Midtown, as reported by WWMT.
The festival is also highlighted by the Clean Comedy Showcase, which features adult material sans the profanity and the debut of Gospel Fest, hosted by Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids Sister-to-Sister Breast Cancer Support Group for Women of Color; this laugh and praise event is being introduced to provide an inclusive space for joy and support, as noted by WOODTV.
In addition to the laughs, Gilda's Club keeps its focus on the cause with the Red Door Gala scheduled for March 19 at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park featuring comedian Preacher Lawson; this event, along with the overall proceeds from LaughFest, contributes to the free-to-patient cancer and grief emotional health support programs, which exemplifies how the fusion of humor and heart remains at the core of LaughFest's mission, according to WZZM 13.
Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. and are expected to be in high demand given the caliber of entertainers involved. Those interested in attending the festivities or the Red Door Gala can find more information and secure their spots by visiting LaughFestGR.org, as per a report by WOODTV.
