On the evening of January 26, 2025, San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies were called to a scene of domestic turmoil that would lead to a swift response and an arrest the following day. The incident took place at an apartment complex in Grand Terrace, where deputies discovered a victim with substantial head and facial injuries, as reported in a Nixle alert from the Sheriff's office.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department's release, medical personnel were summoned to assist the injured party, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response (AMR) for necessary treatment. Marcus Jujuan Pierce, a 26-year-old resident of Grand Terrace, was identified as the suspect, however, he was not found at his home upon deputies' arrival.
An arrest warrant was soon issued for Pierce, with the case taken over by the Sheriff's Department's Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) considering the violent nature of the reported spousal abuse. Pierce was located and arrested on January 27 without incident. During the subsequent investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at Pierce's residence where they recovered four legally owned firearms.
Pierce's arrest landed him in Central Detention Center with bail set at $150,000.00.
