On the outskirts of Harris County, deputies arrested a man who was found asleep at the wheel in a residential neighborhood. According to a social media post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, the suspect, Gilberto Rivera, was discovered in the 23800 block of Tree House Lane today, displaying clear signs of intoxication.
The deputies responded to the call promptly and were able to rouse Rivera from his sleep. Upon waking, he exhibited several indicators that he had been driving under the influence. Subsequent to conducting a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, it became apparent that Rivera was indeed unfit to safely operate his vehicle. He consented to quickly provide a breath specimen, which indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.162—well above the legal limit.
Following these events, Rivera faced immediate arrest and was booked into the Harris County Jail. "Gilberto Rivera was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated," the Constable's office stated. At the time of the report, his bond and court details had not yet to be determined and disclosed to the public.
