
The Hawai‘i Island police are reaching out again to the public for help in finding two teenage girls who have been missing since last year. Mary Costner, 17, was last seen in Kea‘au on May 20, 2024, and is reported to hang around the Pāhoa and Waikoloa areas. Similarly, Cherish Ahulau-Kaleo, also 17, was last sighted on September 28, 2024, in Hilo, and is known to frequently visit this area, as reported by the Hawaii Police Department.
Both Costner and Ahulau-Kaleo are described as teenagers with their distinctive features making them recognizable to those who may encounter them. According to the Hawaii Police Department, Mary Costner is about 5 feet 2 inches tall, 170 pounds, with long dark brown hair and brown eyes, last seen walking near Maku‘u Drive and 8th Avenue. Cherish Ahulau-Kaleo, with a tan complexion and a thin build, stands 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes; she was last seen on the 70 block of Aupuni Street.
